Talking What do you think about Council?

We will be visiting the city of Council next week as a possible new home for my family. Can you give me some likes and dislikes of the area?

I don't know a whole lot about Council as we live about 60 miles south. We do pass through there fairly regularly and have recently met some folks that live just outside of town. This is my opinion and these things may make you just love the area but -

Council is a little too isolated for me. It is a small town a long way from anywhere. The stretch of 95 between Council and New Meadows in the winter is a freaky piece of highway filled with lots of snow and black ice. This winter brought a lot of snow to the area and people up there are going to spend a lot of time repairing fence this spring. The couple we know had their septic flooded due to the amount of snow melting off.

IMO the quality of life you seek can be found with less hardship in the Weiser, Midvale, Cambridge areas. But, like I said, these things may be just what you're looking for.

That being said from what I have heard Council is a friendly community and people do watch out for one another. There are a lot of artists and quilting is huge.
