I would like to be close enough to at least one larger city. And close enough to a decent college.
I live in Mesa, Arizona and I am considering moving to Idaho because I have been without the four seasons for too long. I really want to live somewhere where each season gets equal time share. I also have two small children (5+6) who will both be starting school this year, so I want to move before school starts so they will not have to switch schools later on. I need to move somewhere that has great education either in the town, or very nearby, so we could commute. I am looking for a quaint town, much like the town of Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls. I want to live somewhere where everyone knows everyone else. I am planning for this to be my last move. I want to settle down and raise my family. Can anyone please suggest a town that sounds like what I am looking for? |

What field of employment is important to you? That might be something of consideration as to which part of the state you'd want.
Do outdoor activities factor in? Skiing, camping, fishing etc. etc. |

I am currently in Prescott, AZ, and planning to retire to Idaho next year, but employment will not be a factor for me so I've been looking at smaller towns in Northern Idaho from Coeur d'Alene to Sandpoint. If you must work you will probably need to look closer to a larger town, Boise or...? Pull out a map of Idaho and scout it out...the further north you go the more wooded it becomes, but I believe the whole state has four distinct seasons.
Good luck to you! ![]() |

LOL I just can not resist this. Cambridge Idaho can have equal of all four seasone in ONE DAY!!! I am looking out my window at green fields and snow covered mountains right now. So pretty We might be too far from things here for you. Although there is also a town of Mesa just up the hill from us. Not much of a town any more.Cambridge does fit the Quaint part of your request and the seasons. That is about it. Chris |

beyond a 'gilmore girls' type of town, are there any specific qualities you are looking for? small towns in idaho tend to be very conservative poilticaly and religiously. does that suit you?

That is pretty much the main thing i am looking for. Everything else i will be fine with as long as it has good people, good schools, and 4 seasons.
