We are still gathering information on where we will finally hang our hats in retirement. We are in the last year of exploring our areas and would like some information on this year's utility costs.

If anyone can please assist us with information on what your gas or propane bills ranged in January 2008 from Boise, CDA, Sandpoint areas, it would really be helpful for our spreadsheet to compare different areas.

Those that had all electric homes, it would also be helpful for that charge for January 2008 as well.

Next year we will be making our final trip to Boise and Northern Idaho to recheck on the areas we are interested in so we would certainly appreciate all the information anyone is willing to share with us regarding cost of living these days in our trying economical times.

I understand that property tax exemptions have also been raised in Idaho. So if a property was purchased at $250,000 with the increase in owner occupied exemptions, what would the final tax be per year in Boise, CDA and Sandpoint?

Thank you in advance for any input you can provide.

Hi Torrie,

Thanks for the links, I do believe they answer a lot of questions and I already put them in my favorites to refer back to them. Comparing Las Vegas to Boise was eye opening. I knew our cost of living in Vegas was getting to be a bit high especially over the past 17 years we've lived here which is one of the factors regarding why we will be retiring elsewhere.
