Last year we stayed at Lake Alturas in the sawtooh mtn area.
I am planing on returning there next month. Does anyone know of a campground similar to Lake Alturas near that lake that might be a better, prettier, more rustic camp. I pull a 30ft 5th wheel full of trail bikes so some off higway trails would be great also. Thanks for your help. The Wurty family |

You should definately try Stanely Lake or Redfish Lake. Redfish is more commercialized, and Stanley Lake is very quiet and "Buena Vistas"....

If you really want "rustic," ditch the 5th wheeler and get a jeep or a pickup & camper. There are a lot of lakes up in the Stanley area that are not accessible to trailers.
