Ranch for Rent in Idaho
I am looking to rent a small farm/ranch to live for the summer or 2 months at least. The eastern part of Idaho and higher elevation is the area I am interested in.

Yes, I would surmise that rickers is most certainly NOT looking to rent you a ranch.
Hey...we've had all kinds of requests....and house-swapping isn't so crazy...but kethieandjazz...if by definition a ranch is a place where animals of some sort are kept and/or raised, it would be folly for a rancher (even a hobby rancher) to just rent it out and give up their care of their animals to a stranger...ya know?

Ranch
But...it is possible to maybe get a room to rent at a local ranch, and be an extra pair of hands. Check with the area real estate agents, where you are interested in staying, because I do know that it something that takes place here in Salmon every summer season. Good Luck to you.

Have you looked at properties for sale? Maybe there are owners who would consider a short term situation while their property sits on the market, or if you are checking it out to purchase, do a lease option. Also, check out List caretaker jobs or find property caretakers worldwide. Dedicated to caretaking. .
My real question is how will you use the property? Do you have a project you will need the property for? Will you be present during those two months?

Why don't you contact real estate agents who list and show the types of properties you are looking for? An internet search of realtors in the towns/counties you wish to live in will help you find realtors. That way, you can make contact and explain to them your wishes. They may know if any of their clients would be interested in such an arrangement.

Well I have a small ranch in the mountains of northern Idaho and I would gladly rent it to you say, in January and February. I'd love a break from taking care of stock in 6 feet of snow and Mexico sounds nice that time of year.
In summer though...heck no. This is what we dream of all winter long.

A room or small cabin is all I need and pasture for my mare.
