Pocatello has Ross Park which is a water park.

Casino is located up the road on I-15 exit 80 on the Ft. Hall Reservation. They are expanding right after they get the truckstop/casino built up to exit 89. The new plans show that they will incorporate a golf course and water park at different stages. If you Google Ft. Hall casino you'll see more information

You won't be far from Jackpot, NV either as far as casinos go.

Don't want to monopolize the Pocatello threads, anyone else please jump in and help.

Here's my favorites:

Family vacations?

Yellowstone, Grand Teton National park, Sawtooths/Redfish Lake, Island Park, Salt Lake City for Lagoon, shopping, Utah Jazz basketball, Bear Lake.

SKIING!

Pebble Creek is 20 minutes away and is an awesome mountain but an old lodge. Within three hours you have Grand Targhee, Teton Village at Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, and all of the Utah and Park City resorts.

Fishing?

Pick a direction and drive 5-100 miles and you'll find some of the best fishing around. Henry's Fork of the Snake near Island Park is world class fly fishing.

Amusement Parks/Water Parks?

Not too much close by, cleosmom mentioned Ross Park which is small communtiy pool but fun for kids. Lava Hot Springs and Downata Hot Springs are within an 30-45 miles south, for big amusement/water parks, there is Lagoon N. of Salt Lake and several water parks there. Raging Waters is my favorite.

Casinos?

Fort Hall (10 minutes) or Jackpot, Nevada (2.5 hours)

Camping?

Same as fishing, too many to mention. Favorites are Island Park (buttermilk and coffee pot), Redfish/Alturas Lake, Bear Lake/Preston/Montpelier area. (Bloomington Lake, various canyons).

Local favorites are Scout mountain/mink creek, Big Springs (n. of Lava Hot Springs, backside of Pebble Creek, Goodenough Canyon, and Massacre Rocks.
