Anyone ever drive US93 from Jackpot to Vegas?
Just wondering what kind of road it is and or course, can you safely do 80 without "worrying"...?? I'm going to Vegas next week, and want to take a little shorter route rather then the typical I-15 thru Salt Lake....
Thanks!!

Husband says it's two lane and it's not bad. He drives semi so it's at least decent for that. I would suggest checking in advance for any roadwork that might delay you

That road is funny, no matter how much time your making on either side of it, and no matter how short it is, it always seems like forever to me. Maybe it's because it is two lanes and it's easy to get stuck behind other people, it's winding in places too, so if you don't know the road it can slow you down at night, and there are deer, and always the potential for a drunk driver. But it's not a bad drive at all, for me it is just the longest seeming leg of my 12 hour drive. And don't try speeding in Jackpot.

When I moved here from Phoenix I drove Hwy 93 a couple of times and it is a great alternative to having to drive through Utah. While it is only two lanes, it is a truck route, so the road is great shape and lightly traveled. Pretty much from the time I hit the highway just outside of Vegas until I got to the Idaho border I had my cruise control set at 90 MPH.
The other good thing is that there are very few dead spots for your cell phone. I have Verizon and I had coverage for 95% of the drive.
Just make sure that you top off the tank whenever you see a town because gas stations are few and far between.
So the road is in great shape, you drive fewer miles, little to no speed enforcement and avoid all of the traffic in SLC, can't think of any reason to ever have to drive through Utah to get to Vegas ever again.

Valentine V1 radar detector.
Nice road but better with one of those in your car.

I take the 93 everytime I go to Idaho, it cuts off a good bit of driving for me. The roads are great, and you can go about as fast as you want without much hassle.. BUT the little towns along the way are all VERY strict on speed. If it says go 15MPH through the town go 13MPH;-) Its actually a nice drive, VERY remote but enough gas stations and small towns along the way to keep you gassed up and hydrated..

Thanks All!!!!
Wow, thank all of you for the info...I heard just what I wanted!!! Nice highway, little to no speed enforcement- except for towns, but I don't speed in town, perfect...me and my 330 are going to have fun!!!
However, I have a Escort Passport, no V1...
