Talking Looking to move to Downey/McCammon Area?

My husband and two girls are looking to (possibly) move to the Downey/McCammon area... Can anyone give me any information?

We currently live in Utah and have sold our previous home. We are looking for horse property. We want out of the hustle and bustle and want the more country scene. I would like as much info about the area as possible (schools, community, weather, jobs, etc). We love the seasons but don't want to get much colder than the Salt Lake area.

We are a non-LDS family that would like some "good" neighbors. Where we previously lived my kids really didn't have any friends in the area due to the fact we did not go to church with them. I want my kids to have a neighbor friend to say that they grew up with and were their best friend through school. I myself grew up in a neighborhood where the neighbor kids couldn't play with some of us other kids due to the fact we did not go to church with them. I feel as if you are a "good" person that you do not need a church to tell you so.
My husband and I feel as if we are raising our children to be good people. We have strong values and try to pass them on to our kids. We are always willing to help others but then have a hard time accepting help.

We race Thoroughbred horses and are always in Idaho racing from Boise to Pocatello to Idaho Falls, etc. We want a place where there is possible a racetrack or facility to exercise horses at (any jockeys would be wonderful).

Any info that you could give would be VERY helpful

Downey/McCammom are wide open spaces that have the same weather as Northern UT. I don't know about any tracks there though.

Idaho Falls has tons of surrounding land perfect for horse ranches and they have Sandy Downs. Pocatello is too much of a bowl for me, give me more room with the moutains within reach. You can find a nice chunk of property south of IF, Shelley, Firth areas, for good prices and the Downs are within 15-20 mins of those areas.

You should contact Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls or talk to Kitty at Hunter's Creek Saddlery cuz they could help you out more.
