We've only gotten out on our boat once this summer!
But our river has been thronged with floaters, some really drunken ones too. Lovely. They really can underestimate this river...we had a drowning at 8 mile rapids over the 4th of July weekend. They are a Class 3 rapids.

Wow...you're hotter than I am in northern Arizona right now! But we are having a somewhat cooler, damper summer than we've had in many years here in the Prescott area. I still am ready to move north, though. I hate the heat! And while we do have water here (a few smallish lakes) there really isn't anyplace to go cool off because all the lakes are non-swim areas! Rats!

I hate that!!.. We live maybe 2 miles from a new 5 mile long lake. BUT if you were to dip your toe in it they would probably lock you up..
From our place in NID we can be swimming on the south end of lake CDA in about 10 minutes. The first few times we went there we kept looking for signs that said NO BODY CONTACT... I couldnt find one ANYWHERE!

BTW heres a couple pics from the Harrison webcam overlooking lake cda. These will cool you down just looking at them..

Default Cooling off in Goat Lake

Here is a pic of my Lab and friends nephew cooling off Idaho style on a backpack trip into goat Lake, Clearwater National Forest, above Cayuse Creek Drainage.

Oh, bless you Trace and Robert!!!! Just seeing those photos has made me smile! I HOPE this is my last summer here...but that all depends on the real estate market, I suppose. I also hope there are plenty of lakes and streams in NID where I can let my dogs splash and play without being yelled at.

I didnt see any signs saying anything about NO DOGS either.. In fact I saw a few pooches having a grand old time splashing around in Heyburn Park with some kids.
I know my big Rott/American Bull is going to love getting in the water!
Theres so much water up there I dont think anyones going to complain about the occasional dog taking a dip anytime soon.

Nope. At our launch ramp area there are always a few people with dogs splashing around. About the only place dogs are NOT allowed is Sandpoint city beach (park). But then there's "Dog Beach" by the railroad trestles, so it's all good, even there in town.

My Jack Russells will love it! They can finally fetch their sticks in water, which they love! I never knew terriers liked water until I got these two...they currently spend their days in a backyard wading pool or my little pond. Thanks for one more great reason to retire in NID!
