Wink Interest in Welsh connection

Hi
Just been reading about the Malad City Welsh connection. Interesting that an Eisteddfod is planned. We live in a very Welsh community where over half the population speak Welsh. Pob Hwyl

Smile Malad City

Good Morning Graham!

You are right. Malad City was settled by Welsh pioneers in the 1860's. The town has a Welsh "flavor" even today, due to the continuation of the strain.

The town has a Welsh Festival (eisteddfod) each year (this year's celebration is July 6th and 7th) to honor the Welsh tradition with music, dancing, crafts, food, games, etc.

If you have not done so, check out http://www.maladidaho.org and click on "Welsh Heritage" under the "History" tab for more information.

As an Idahoan and a webmaster (www.idaho-insider.com) (broken link), I particularly enjoy local celebrations in the small towns throughout the State. Malad City's Welsh Festival is one of my favorites.

Best wishes from Idaho!

Bob (pimit2)
