Does anyone know if Paul Wilde is going to campaign?
Laun Cook has a website at http://www.launcook.com
He's the Democratic candidate for sheriff and has been pretty open about what he wants to do, the problems he sees, and how he wants to correct them. There was a flier and information at the Dem booth at that fair.
But so far nobody seems to know if Paul Wilde is even still in the race. Someone said he started his campaign the other day but still nobody can produce anything. Some are figuring that he assumes he'll win this area because of the (R) next to his name. I think that's wrong to assume and I sincerely hope it's not the case.

eastidahomom,
I don't know about Paul Wilde. I'm interested because I'm interested in more info about all candidates. Didn't the Post Register run a page of links one day? I can't remember.

Paul Wilde
I don't know if I'd ascribe any negative motive to Paul Wilde's lack of active campaigning. I think I would be reluctant to campaign very much if I were in his position, if my opponent was a subordinate. As it is, having an 'R' after his name helps. But so does the fact that he is acting sheriff. He is starting out with a huge advantage, and may not see a lot of reason to spend the time and money to campaign.
I will probably vote straight D this time, as I usually do. But I won't vote against Wilde just because he isn't a very active campaigner.
BTW, I've met Paul a few times - our boys were friends in the same class at Holy Rosary. He seems like a decent man. And everything I've seen about him over the years in the news has been good.

I've met him too and I agree, he does seem decent. But I still don't know what he plans to do to reverse some of the many problems at BCSO. I would have voted for Wilde, but without knowing what his plans are, I won't. I can't find a thing on him and Laun Cook is campaigning.
My ticket will probably go straight Democrat this year too.

We're good as long as we avoid discussing "general" politics, this thread can stand. So let's avoid "republican vs democrat" comments please...even nice harmless ones please...
