salmon seems to be pretty lax on writing speeding tickets, as long as you are stopping for pedestrians, and drive reasonably in town. But even if the locals get tickets here the fine attached to it is so cheap anyone can afford to pay.

Here in Montana I've heard, (I've a spotless driving record), that if you have out of state plates and you get caught speeding you have to cough up the fine right on the spot and pay the officer !

Right as you enter Pocatello on I-15, the speed limit changes from 75 to 65...you will almost always spot a cop somewhere in the next 2 miles in this stretch.
