Hey! I went to Morningside! First grade. That was before we moved to Jerome...which in my day didn't fit any of the description given here. Sad to hear such bad perceptions of it. It was a great place to grow up.

Hi Mejaka,
I actually had a couple bad experiences in Jerome, hence my destestment for the town. One which included almost being kicked out of an electronics store for simple changing the channel on one TV out of the good 20 they had on display...and my parents were paying customers! They actually went out of business sometime afterwards, though I can't imagine why
I think the problem is Jerome has become your average small town fallen on hard times like so many you might find on the Plains...no real growth or opportunites. No, all of that action is happening on the other side of the canyon. What it comes down to is that Jerome's future is somewhat bleak, and I think that may be the root of the problems.

Hey Loser,
You really need to check out Jerome before you speak that way about it. Jerome is now one of the most econimically diverse cities in the area with alot of jobs and opportunities than before. Growth is phenomenal, but not exploding. I do have to agree though that the Twin Falls Kimberly, Filer area is the best....

Jerome has for a long time been something of a "bedroom town" for Twin. The action was pretty much always on the other side of the canyon...but some of us liked living in the smaller town.
OTOH, for the last few years my folks lived there, every time we drove into Jerome there were new businesses. It seemed to be growing fast to me at that point (they moved away 5 years ago to help run my brother-in-law's Boise-area company).

What about Kimberly?
We are considering making a trip to Kimberly and would like some first hand information on this place.
What can anyone tell me about It??
The road from TF to Kimberly; is it passable in the Winter??
Heard about a bug in the area; HOW BAD IS THIS HOBO SPIDER????
We have black widows here, but only for a couple of months in the summer. They are huge and easy to kill. We also have brown recluse, but haven't ever seen one in years here. (Thank goodness!!). How does the Hobo compare to the Black Widow??
I am such a wimp ( sorry.
Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say. Thanks, Maxxsgirl

We returned to Twin two years ago from the DC area. Our first experience in Twin was in 1971 and now that we are at a time in life when we are able to live anywhere we choose, we chose Twin Falls. Actually we live in Kimberly which is the most significant growth area of the valley. We love the climate, the high desert and all the amenities within short drives. Twin is one of the "bargins" still available in the country. We have lived in states across the country: PA, MD, IN, WA, HI and Idaho. We chose to return to Idaho. Politically, socially and spiritually it is more conservative than most places but the Libertarian bent of the people generally means that the culture is live and let live. The most significant influence in southern Idaho is the LDS. If you are not an LDS, you will be approached about it. In some communities in SE Idaho it could be difficult to be in the community and not be LDS. Twin Falls is not among those. Topasna, it is a wonderful place to live but there is no paridise anywher in the world. I hope that if you move here you will enjoy the area as much as we enjoy it.
