About to move to Coeur d'Alene in January (from Maryland). I have only spent one weekend in Coeur d'Alene ever and I don't remember seeing anything there except Albertson's and Safeway. Is there anywhere in Coeur d'Alene or Spokane that has decent organic food and "green" products?

There are a few organic grocers in Coeur d'Alene and many of the full-line supermarkets have organic sections. The most popular true organic market, I believe, is Pilgrim's Natural Foods Market on North 4th Street.

Hope that helps.

as noted above, Pilgrim's is still the best bet. Earlier this year a Natural Grocers opened on Hwy 95 north of town. Super 1 on Kathleen Ave. at 95 has a good organic produce and dairy selection.

Default Try Sandpoint

Hi ~ besides Pilgrims, there aren't many choices unfortunately, but if you want to take as little drive north (about 45 min) you can visit my town which is beautiful and offers some nice options:

Common Knowledge is a used bookstore/coffee shop/wine bar that serves all organic food. Vegan and gluten free options as well as fresh juices.

Winteridge Market is an organic store that has a nice deli, juice bar, and offers many gluten free baked items.

There's also a new juice/ smoothie bar that offers organic wraps and sandwiches.

Evans brothers roasts their own free trade organic coffees - they have won many awards.

Bricks and barley serves brick oven pizza with amazing choices and home made soups and wraps. Gluten free is an option.

Our town is pretty great with lots of options!
