My wife and I are looking for rural areas in Idaho best suited for having horses. Is there any place in particular that we should look? We're semi-retired so being within an hour of a town/city would be helpful.
Thanks for whatever input you can provide.
There are so many places to pick from; look at Middleton, Star, Eagle, Kuna, Nampa. All are within 45min or less to Boise.
How many acres are you looking for? I have a horse property listing, that you might be interested in, it's 7.3 acres, close to BLM land for riding. The nice thing about it, is it's nesteled within a horse community which is why I'm mentioning it. Several of the neighbors are heavily involved in the horse industry. If you want more info you can DM me.
You will have lots to choose from as there are many properties available!
Go to this link, scroll down towards the bottom and you can see a link for several of the cities within the area:

I forgot to mention, that particular property is in Middleton and doesn't list until Monday. When looking, don't be afraid to ask the sellers or listing agent about the neighbors and their involvement in the horse community. I'm sure there are many listings similar to mine in the cities I mentioned, so you're looking in the right place. Once you get driving out in the rural locations you'll see lots of horse properties. I think you will most likely be drawn to either Middleton, Star, or Eagle.

Pocatello is a good horse area also. What do you do with your horses.
My family (husband, kids, grandkids, sister, nieces & their families) are looking into different states to move. Idaho keeps coming back on the list. We are looking for a horse community. We want to have horses, chickens, and some other animals but don't want to be in an area where your closest neighbor is miles away. We need and love community. We are all involved in our communities (activities, church, schools).
Any recommendations as to what area would be a great area for us??
