Electric Lineman Career
Does anyone have any info on careers as an Electric Lineman in the Southern Idaho area?
What are the major power companies in southern Idaho?

I don't have a lot of information for you, but in Boise area, you have Idaho Power. And a Lineman School in Meridian. (At least I think it's in Meridian)

Hi,
Check out www.usajobs.gov and search Idaho. I'm not positive about the name, but it's either the Bonneville Power Authority, or the Bonneville Power Administration that is hiring for that position. We were looking into it but are now not moving. Hope this helps you!

Anderson Wood in Meridian, ID does high voltage power lines. You can try them.

I'm not sure where Cobalt is, but in reference to the post a few lines up, Bonneville Power Administration (the Feds) operates the WA, OR, ID and Western MT service area transmission lines. I know one of their locations is in Idaho Falls. My husband is a Jry. Lineman and just applied for a job with BPA. If you're interested, they are hiring in several areas, including a new bare hand, live line maint. crew, but it will be based from Eastern Wa. and there will be periods of continuous travel. Their web site is Bonneville Power Administration Root page Good luck!
