Glad to read your update, KittyToy. I remember you counting the days down in 2007 until you moved.
In thinking about the various tips or other advice forumers gave you, what one category do you think was the most useful for you?
For example, some want tips about neighborhoods and schools, some about nightlife, others about jobs and of course - as anyone in ID knows, many want information about the weather. Perhaps it is individual to the poster, but if it isn't too personal, would you mind sharing what you found to be useful?
Sometimes people are uncertain of where they want to relocate. I know that wasn't your case and I don't know if your #1 reason for relocating is still your #1 reason. (Not trying to pry). Sometimes reasons change of why people stay in an area. I don't have any issues with those posters, but I've seen a couple of threads this last year that I've not seen before. It's not so much the initial question asked, but what appears to be the lack of effort of the poster in learning more with the tips given to him/her.
In no way am I saying that unsettling type of thread (unsettling for me) pertains to you KittyToy. Far from it. You've been active in learning and helping others.
I do realize most people post on forums to learn more and in that process may realize an area isn't right for them. I have no issue with that - the originator of the thread made a decision and participated by making a decision. However, the one thread in particular that I'm thinking of, clearly showed a lack of research, action on tips given or further thought than the initial question. To this day, I wonder if the author realizes real people gave their time, their best suggestions and sometimes PMs with extensive information to best inform someone.
The autho didn't post further and didn't bother to thank anyone for their work in the multiple columns he posted in. And that post didn't even concern southeastern or eastern Idaho. I'm saying you, KittyToy, are so opposite of some who are essentially writing a question and watching what others answer with no further effort on their part.
It is refreshing in a way, to read your experiences good, bad or indifferent, KittyToy. You seemed to appreciate any advice or tip given too you. You thanked people for their help.
Good luck in school, your life and what lies ahead for you. I hope your time in Idaho will always be a time in your life which you can recall with smiles and laughs.

Idaho isn't for everyone (nor is any one location anywhere). Life circumstances, relationships, education etc. necesitate moves sometimes we don't plan on when thinking we've found where we want to be.
But, as the saying goes, it's what you do with the situation that counts. I think you've done a very good job with the adjustments you've made.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.
