Default Plowing Snow in Idaho Falls

OK, so can anyone tell me...why is it that the Idaho Falls news reports that snow plowing of the major roads began today (east-west streets) but Sunnyside & 17th St. don't look like they have been touched by a plow.

I can certainly understand that it's hard to keep up with heavy snowfall, but none has fallen in 36-48 hours, and with another big one coming on Christmas, I would think it'd be best to get as much off the roads now before it becomes a layer of ice under the new snowfall...

Sorry, just had to let that one out...does this happen every year?

It's typical that the plows don't come out until there's at least three or more inches on the ground. It made perfect sense for them to do nothing on Tuesday due to the winds. Can't explain why they haven't touched Sunnyside or 17th nor have I been up them since the storm, I avoid them both like the plague this time of year

I do know they plowed our subdivision, top which when I came home from work I had a 3-4 foot dam at the end of my drive preventing me to pull into my driveway

I left my car in the road and grabbed the snow shovel and went to work. A neighbor from across and a few doors down noticed me and brought his snow blower over knowing otherwise I would have been out there all night In thanks I gave him the rest of the gas in the can from mowing season and then after I came in and warmed up I ran him over loaf of Banana Nut Bread I had made yesterday morning.
