There seem like some really good tips here, almumoha. Lots of college campses have cheaper things to do as has been mentioned.
Service projects, regardless of whether they are with a church, a social service agency or community - at large group, can be a marvelous way to meet new people who may share similar interests. Besides, most people feel a lot better about themselves after they have helped another.
Also, you may want to check out the bus between ISU -Poky and Idaho Falls. No one says you can't start your ride in Pocatello and be in Idaho Falls. That is assuming you don't have transporation. If you do, then you can go whenever.
Driving 50 miles can also give one not only a change of scenery, but often time to think about concerns. Who knows who you might meet at B & N or coffee shops in Idaho Falls you may not have expierenced previously.
Let us know what works for you. I don't think you'll get a lot more ideas than those offered as I think they are all quite solid, IMHO!
Tried to rep you Twin Prism, but couldn't. Many good suggestions. The clubs/activities/service others mentioned I also think are good options.
Plus, depending on your major, is there anything you want to be doing as a sub-intern or something along those lines to prepare yourself for a job opportunity when you complete school?
Good luck. I'm sure you'll find what is right for you. You could always write an ISU forum here and update it daily about what is offered at each ISU campus etc.
