Yes Horses are ok but they don't have a KILL switch.
They scare me. Their lips freak me out too

Now that thar's funny, I don't care who you are!
Plus you have to fuel them year around and clean up after them, you can't just park them in the corner of the garage. I'd need to figure out how to strap a snowplow to one too.
Horses are pretty cool, and they get more people out and experiencing the backcountry. There's room for all types of transportation out here. It would be nice if they had "emission controls" though-dodging horse poo on the rural roads does get old sometimes .

That's organic fertilizer you're whining about.
Ask my 13 year old daughter...anything horsey smells fine.

And I thought most "organic fertilizer" came out of DC!
Hey, the land mines add to the entertainment value, it's funny to see the city people with a BMW come up a gravel road towards the lake and dodge all over the place to avoid them. Heck, I drive a P/U, a little dirt is paint protection .
On a different note, heres one for you....you might be a Redneck if...you ever bought a car to match the color of the dirt on your road. I showed up at the dealer last spring with my mud-splattered pickup and told them to find me one that (mud) color...current car is gold! And it really helps in not showing the dirt. I loved the dark blue on my PU...for about 5 minutes after it's washed.

Mud is good because I can always find my muddy truck in the parking lots in Spokane because it sticks out like a sore thumb.

True! It's a touch embarrasing when the mud falls off in the parking lot during a good rain, I've had some pretty good mud piles around the truck. A couple years back our county road was in bad shape, the rig always looked like I took it out mudding, just going to work. What the heck, free car wash!

We horse people know the score, huh? My daughter eats, lives and breathes her horses. She has a 13H Pony of the Americas, a 14H mustang pony, and a warmblood cross that she was given by a friend and breeder in Kentucky. She's in her 5th year of United States Pony Club and does eventing which scares me sometimes. Those jumps are getting bigger.
Oh yeah...she also has a miniature mare that she drives in a teensy little cart.
If any of you north Idahoans (or future ones) are interested in USPC, let me know...it's an incredible organization. Most equestrian Olympians come up through it.

I think horses are cool... The Ultimate ATV..Ha!! I found it very intersting that the Appaloosa breed came out of North Idaho, bred by the Nez Pearce indians.. Growing up here in rural Slow Cal. we at one time had a roping arena, and would have rodeo's and what not. Also had a very spirited Appaloosa stallion named Flashy Ladd.. He was something else. I dont have a problem with the random pile of horse crap.. Reminds me of my childhood.. We might get a couple horses eventually once we get there. Just depends on how much time we have to devote to them..
