Anyone got any opinion as which one is better to relocate to and why?

McCall is larger, less remote...more urban atmosphere IMHO. Lots of mountains plus a big lake, of course. I'm guessing easier to make a living in McCall. Pagosa Springs is probably a better hiding place. I think, generally, more to do in McCall. Land expensive in both places. McCall on a direct route from northern to southern Idaho. PS not on a direct route to much of anything, though this could be argued by the locals I guess. Given the choice I would probably pick McCall....I like the restaurants better.

Thanks, but it appears that the homes anywhere near the lake are very expensive.

I really don't get an urban feel in Mc Call at all. For a resort type community the restaurant quality is pretty poor in my opinion. I know many many people that love the area, but for some reason it has always stuck me as an area lacks real character. Obviously, just my opinion.

It's a 2 hour canyon drive to Bosie from McCall and about 1 1/2 hours from Cascade. In the winter the snow and ice make for a slow commute to Boise. Hope this helps you a little with McCall I don't know much about Co. Good Luck!! ![]() |

Idahomama..I don't disagree with you. I'm comparing it to Pagosa Springs. McCall is not urban compared to Boise, but compared to PS.... And the restaurants are not that good, but again, compared to PS....You get the idea. gc57 apparently prefers Pagosa Springs...probably not too concerned about restaurants and urbanites anyway. There is some terrific country around PS. Old aquaintance of mine started a high end development there but went broke before the endgame.

So, just out of curiosity what made you chose Pagosa Springs? We don't have any great restaurants here and sure wish someone would open one up. The Mill is good just on the expensive side. Two hour drive to get to some where if you live in McCall full time gets real old fast!!!

Yes, I was asking you sorry for not addressing by name. I as looking at the elevation in PS and it does seem higher which, probably means colder. But, I was just wondering what you decided over Mccall I love small towns and McCall has turned into a resort for the rich so, there is work and money for now. Just not much for entertainment unless, you are not a big snow person.
