How far off the beaten path are you interested in going?

I'm talking house, not property.

The South family created the monolithic dome business (from what I can tell), MonolithicĀ® and Randy South is still in the area building domes. He has a rather fancy place on or near the snake river IIRC.

Stronger than dirt, claimed heat/cool efficiency of 40-60% greater than sticks n boards, and as an added bonus the finished product looks like it could make it to Alpha Centauri in about a week.

Hi Sage,
I did not see your informative post, but really good details. As the kids get bigger we are going to face a choice in the next few years: expand the current digs or buy/build elsewhere.

Must feel great to have built from scratch.

Worth looking into--we've actually also considered a yurt. There's one on display in Yellowstone. Although they're not ideal when it comes to interstellar travel.... But whatever it is, it has to be bearproof! Not sure about yurt walls...
