Proud of Sandpoint Residents
Bonner County Daily Bee - Your source for Sandpoint Idaho news and information
We know the extended family....and they are just awed by the generosity shown by our townspeople as their 14 month old son fights Neuroblastoma cancer....it's one of those things that makes you proud to live here...$47,000 raised in one night during economic tough times...

My wife and I also went to the Tyler Cordell benefit and were just amazed at the turnout. And just a few days after this there was another benefit, also inspired by a local toddler who is sick. Hank Sturgis has a rare disease called Cystinosis, and there was a 24 hour ski race at Schweitzer to raise money for the Cystinosis Foundation. My brother and I were part of the 125 racers that entered. The community, including Schweitzer, donated everything for this event and it was inspiring to see the tremendous support. The next day after the race, little Hank rode out in a fire truck, got out and smiled at everyone, leaving many of us teary eyed.
