I thought I had issues..
City-Data to me means Idaho city data.
For the last several years I have been on Idaho city data exclusively.
It has offered me knowledge of an unkown area and I have met great people who are now my friends.
Tonight I started reading California City Data. OH MY GOD!!!
Now I know why We want to leave Ca.
20 minutes of reading the Calif threads and I felt nauseous and ready to chug a can of Draino
There is more crying and whining than I ever read on this site in 2 years.
I promise I will never stray from Idaho City Data again.

I venture that way once in a great while. I used to live in Fresno and try to help out those that are moving there, not sure why they would want to move there, but to each his own

The Other Guys
From time to time, I sneak around and nose into other states besides Idaho in city-data.com. I find our state the most useful. Questions about Idaho are generally answered cordially and factually. Responses are caring and warm. Other states - including California - are often complete with bad answers and curt responses. Useless, smart a-- remarks are common.
Please understand that this is not a scientific study. However, I've arrived at a conclusion: Idaho is best....one more time!

Yah I have drifted into the Sacramento area board a few times because I spent 20 years in Sacto and surrounding areas. I do not stay long. I am in agreement. Idaho Boards Rock. This year we will have been in Idaho 23 years. I have NEVER regretted moving from California.

I participate in the CA section to help people in areas I know something about. I feel this is what makes CDF great. That said, we are redoubling our efforts to get the heck out of here. Flying to NID to look at property tomorrow morning!

Elousv, I looked at 32 NID properties in 5 days last August. It makes your head spin! I had a great realtor. Bring a digital camera with movie capacity, and take pix of the flyers, too, so you know which pix go with which property. And I did find the perfect place, the last of the 32! We put an offer down the next day, and now it's ours. Best of luck!

Helping Neighbors is What Idahoans Do
Yes, some of the other state threads can get quite shrill. I always remind people to look at the MT or WY threads when it comes to those from CA wanting to relocate. What some think are negative comments in ID pale compare to some threads/posts in those states.
I like to post in states where I have lived or knowledge of certain questions. from outsiders. I've gotten some of the nicest comments from people who felt they couldn't get detailed enough information from those currently there. Yes, it takes time to write responses, but I always think it might be me or someone in my family someday asking for honest feedback about an area.
It appears to me when there are new, serious posts in the Idaho thread, many try to answer. It is neighborly thing to do in Idaho.
