Leo 075
You make Nampa sound great in compare to some of the things I've read. A couple of questions if you don't mind. 1) What the heck is LDS? 2) What part of Nampa do yo live in? 3) Do you have kids and if so do you like the schools?
If you could let me know I'd appreciate it very much.

I'm not Leo but maybe I can help you. LDS stands for Later Day Saints. Boise has a large Mormon population, so people say LDS all the time when referring to the Mormon population.

As far as Nampa goes, there are good areas and not so great areas of Nampa which is why you probably read mixed things about that town. Hope this helps.

You will find many Catholic Churches in Boise.
Sacred Heart (they also have a school), St. Johns, St. Marys (also has a school)... Bishop Kelly is a Catholic High School, if you have teens.
Do a search on google, and you can find out more information about the different churches and church/schools in the area.

Idaho needs teachers, especially good ones.
However, the pay might not be as high as what you are used to.

As far as, the LDS (Mormon Community), no they aren't the majority.
The large LDS populations are more in Eastern Idaho, and on into Utah.
There are many Christians in the Treasure Valley.

Boise is conservative, but, has a teeny liberal twist.
No not as diverse as California.

Also, there may be some animosity towards you since you are coming from California.
For the most part, Idahoans are very friendly and will welcome you with open arms.

Also, I'm an elelmentary school teacher in CA, are there many teaching jobs available?

Exclamation something to consider

Cities throughout Idaho are becoming the next great place for pedophiles. Don't just take my word, check the numbers. Florida and California cities usually top the list but Idaho has become their new hunting ground. Laws, or lack of, are one of the motives to this migration. So if you have children, check out each city carefully. Having moved from a CA city that used to hold the national record for most registered pedophiles, I seriously considered this in our move decision.
