Moving to Twin Falls.....HElp
My husbands job may be transferring him to Twin Falls from Portland Oregon, is this a good thing or bad thing? What kind of place is it to raise a family? What are the elementary schools like? We do not practice religion in our family, is this going to be a problem? Will we be discriminated against considering I've heard it's a mormon town? How mormon is it? I don't mind if it is a small town, I'm just concerned because I know nothing about it and we want to make sure we are making the right decision. Help!

Kimberly has some great schools and its just minutes from Twin.
Nice town with everything you could need.
Don't worry about the Mormon thing. I think they make great neighbors.
A bit windy at times.
Great Motorcycle trails in the " South Hills " between Twin and Rogerson.
Jackpot Nevada is close if you want to waste some money
Natsoopa Hot springs is just down the road from town.
If your husband has a good job offer go for it.

If you're coming from Portland (if you liked and enjoyed Portland), it's going to be a polar opposite...

Does your husband have a choice? You should really check out Twin Falls, how soon do you have to move?

We are not sure when we would move at this time. Probably by June is my guess. And yes, he does have a choice on wether he wants the promotion or not. The only reason we would move to Idaho from Oregon is because they would be offering way more than he is making now, we just want to make sure it is worth it other than for the money.

Being raised in Idaho from 1962 through 1978, I can tell you that Twin Falls and the surrounding communities are great places to raise a family! Tons of recreational opportunities are available, and you are just a couple of hours from Boise, and 2 hours to the north are the communities of Ketchum, Hailey and Sun Valley, which have the best snowskiing on the planet! They are also the gateway to the Sawtooth Nat'l Recreation Area, with the Sawtooth mountains to the west, and the Boulders to the east-during high school I would spend 2 weeks in the summer backpacking into the Chain Lakes region-living in Indiana right now, and I miss the mountains!
Lots of changes have taken place since I moved away due to military service-soon I'll be moving back to the state I love the most!!

Being a newcomer to the area, (3 year resident) I can probably offer an outsiders view of Twin Falls. If you would like to talk to me directly...please email me at lostintwinfallls@gmail.com.
