Default Sandpoint Pro's and Con's?

I lived in Rathdrum back i 92' and moved away from Idaho to Colorado. Looking at Sandpoint now as a relocate. It looks like the air and water quality stats are not that good and alot of rain and limited sun. Any opinions?

Where are you getting these stats from ? If you lived in Rathdrum then surely you must know what Sandpoint is like.

I don't know why we rate low in air and water quality. The air is fresh and clean and gorgeous, and the lake is clean and beautiful. I always heard more things about Lake CDA and the Spokane River being polluted...

Not that much rain compared to Seattle and Portland, but more than Boise by quite a bit...

I like our rain...hits for a few hours and is most often fairly light...we play sports in it...we go boating in it...it's not a downpour unless it's really storming...

Yes, there is limited sun. From late November to early March we can do 3-4 days without seeing much sun, and when it pops out (called a "sun break") it's not for that long but usually in mid-late afternoon. But this month, for example...last week several days in a row of sunshine, then it's been cold and windy with some rain for a few days, then tomorrow and Friday should be lots of sun, and back to cold and cloudy by the weekend. I don't know...I sure like it...but it's not for everyone....

Seriously. I thought about doing a move in 1995. Passed up 10 acres outside of Moose WY (in Jackson Hole valley) for $175K. Bet it's worth 10x that now...but glad we didn't go to Jackson Hole. I think it was best for our family to come here...I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

nasuse is on a distinguished road
Hi,
I'm thinking of moving to Idaho - I'm a single female 38 from San Francisco - mother of two cats. I work for myself - online biz - plus writer and life coach, so I don't need to find work. I need a holistic, progressive community surrounded by nature. I don't want to be totally isolated with no culture or alternative community, and I need nature and solitude. I am thinking of the outskirts of Boise - any suggestions? OR up north at Sandpoint or Coeur D'Alene. I know it's totally different - but any input especially on the ones up north would be appreciated. As long as there is something of a holisitc community with some culture, I'm good to go!
Thanks so much!
