Invest in loading tools and supplies and you can make your own ammo for much less money. You can also sell your new or reloaded ammo at gun shows and make quite a decent living at it. Believe me I know a few folks that have been doing this for a long long time. State and federal regulations must be obeyed of coarse except when (not if) Job ama flip flops and tries to take our guns away and it wont be from cold dead hands. Freedom will survive this dark period. "Be prepared" that's what I learned in the boy scouts. No need to go sketchy like the paranoid people on the West Virginia board talking about the imminent "Collapse" What have some of those folks on that thread been snorting ?
Support your local gun show vendors.

Good advice rickers. FWIW I am a CWP holding Obama voter. Seems to me stockpilers are taking more ammo away than the government. Case in point, my coworker, clever fellow that he is, didn't sell me his, he went and bought mine and extra to add to his own.

Is Work Requiring This Training?
NCM,
Thank goodness your co-worker had extra. Not sure what to say that he had more than he needed, don't know the details.
You can answer me with a PM, if you'd like, if you even answer my question. I'm wondering if this is a "group adventure" at work, a "bonding experience" with some, or if this is a new requirement at work? It's the last option that I'd be the most confused knowing.
Good luck to your colleagues, I hope they can keep up with you. Are you going to the outdoor shooting ranges west of Skyline, or the training area close to the Idaho Falls airport? Or opting for something more private and upscale?
Be safe.

Thanks MSR : )
It's an Upper Snake River Valley NRA class, Personal Protection in The Home, at the United Sportsmen's Club west of Rexburg ( www.spudguns.net).
Awesome instructors, supposed to be an awesome class, covers aspects of home defense besides shooting, various plans, concealment vs. cover, house-clearing, etc. Taking it for fun and education, not work related. My co-worker is just a self proclaimed gun nut, lucky for me, he's my firearms mentor, helping to navigate much of the detailed info and advice I've received here and elsewhere, taking me shooting, to gun stores, helping me get my CWP, and patiently teaching me. The instructors are kind enough to be bringing firearm models I'm considering purchasing so I can "try them on."
Upper Snake River Valley NRA Instructors has several free Women's Shooting Clinics coming up in IF, check it out!

It was a great class. I'm sad that I won't be able to take the Personal Protection Outside the Home class at the end of the month. I did learn that the range in IF has a group, I think IDPA, that meets every Wed. evening. : )
