Could This Be What the DVMS Discussed?

Thanks Torrie, I'll look when I can.
I'm wondering if this info is along the lines of what the DVMS were suggesting? I'm sure it will be informative to read.
Take care of yourself in the Boise area. I'd sure like to know more about those Blaine County cases. Plus, the fact MT has all those border counties by YNP with new cases, some potentially linked to a new epicenter in UT, is worrisome. If the Boise media releases more, I hope you or others will post it here.
Take care, prepare and be aware about A/H1N1.

Latest CDC Stats
The latest CDC update:
CDC H1N1 Flu | CDC H1N1 Flu Update: U.S. Human Cases of H1N1 Flu Infection
ID: shows 72 infections ----I'm not sure if that includes the Blaine County ones or not.
MT: lists 44 - I'm unsure if those I posted from the MT media recently are included.
NV: reports 250 inections. Hopefully, Reno/Tahoo have hit their peak.
OR: -Now with 3 deaths from the 289 infections is a state to watch. If anyone has info about what is happening in OR and speciic counties, that would be helpful to post. Two of those deaths have happened this last week.
UT: With 10 deaths, is tied for 4th with TX for the number of deaths. Still a very hotspot, given that only NY, CA and IL surpass with the number of deaths. Given the population of each state, the percentage of deaths (and probably community infections) is much higher in UT. When the community infections stopped be recorded, I wish the CDC would put an * by that, so the 874 reported cases only show the increase of hospitalizations during the time period, not the true picture.
WA: Lists 3 deaths from the repoted 588 patients infected.
WY: Reports 72 infected patients.
I encourage everyone to watch for trends in the bordering states around Idaho. Especially with tourists coming from other states, please be aware of what could happen in your area.
Take care, prepare and be aware of A/H1N1.

OR Child Was Not Seen by a Healthcare Provider Prior to His/Her Death
This article about an Marion County, OR child, under 5 years of age is concerning to me.
"The child was younger than 5 years old and otherwise healthy, officials said."
"The child did not visit a doctor or a hospital, and died at home, said Marion County public health officer Dr. Karen Landers."
If your child is sick, please contact your healthcare provider. It is frightening how rapidly a child can look well and in hours be deathly ill. Even if you don't think you are at risk for A/H1N1, children do not have the luxury of making that decision. Adults decide whether they seek medical care or not.
I don't know any of the circumstances of why this child was not seen by a healthcare provider. I do offer my condolences to his/her family. Peronsally, I would find this very difficult to live with and realize how many alerts and warnings were issued, yet this normally-well child didn't have the chance to see a doctor.
Please, do all you can to educate and encourage other parents to have any sick children checked out. Would you want your friends or family to live the rest of their lives like these parents probably will?

Take care, prepare and stay aware --as more and more border states around ID are having more cases of A/H1N1 and more deaths.

Idaho Work Center Inmate is + for A/H1N1
It looks like Idaho is starting to report more cases of A/H1N1. The latest is a Work center Inmate. The CDC has very specific guidelines of how to handle "institutionalized," populations. This includes states psychiatric hospitals, schools for the visually impaired or those with hearing problems, ICF/MRs and prisons/jails, among other settings.
Work center inmate in Idaho gets swine flu - KPVI NEWS 6: Pocatello, Idaho Falls-Weather, Sports, News-
Think about where new cases are being reported in ID. How can your prepare for potential exposure to A/H1N1? This virus isn't going away soon. Some scientists and healthcare practitioners beieve that we won't get rid of A/H1N1 before 2010.

Possible 1 Million Infections in U.S., Per Computer Model
This is an Interesting article recently published in the L.A. Times. I tried to post before and couldn't. Hopefully, I can now.
This is a computer-generated model saying there have been 1 million infections in the U.S.

This is What The Scientists and Healthcare Providers Have Worried About The Most...
I wasn't happy to see this headline, and I'm sure many others weren't as well.
Will the "Swine Flu" mix with the "Bird Flu" in Indonesia? I certainly hope not, but it may....

Reuters Updates the World Perspective of A/H1N1
From Reuters: "FACTBOX-Worldwide spread of flu outbreak,"
FACTBOX-Worldwide spread of flu outbreak | Reuters
It looks like more of the world are paying attention to this virus. It matters a bit more when someone important to you gets it.
I'm sad to see the U.S. overtake Mexico with the amount of deaths. I believe I read elsewhere now 21 states have had deaths from A/H1N1.
When I saw how much Delta posted as their losses secondary to A/H1N1, I wondered how much of the economy would be disrupted further by people not traveling, pilots/flight attendants sick etc.
It seems a little different looking at this deadly virus from a world perspective. As I believe was mentioned in the Indonesian article I posted earlier, the third world countries are very aware they are the ones who will be the hardest hit as they don't have the $ for treatment....despite what other countries and the U.N. (and pharmaceutical companies) are all donating.
That being said, it is a fascinating read to read about citizens of Canada and their wait to get Tamiflu, even after testing positive, given how healthcare is delivered in Canada.

Economic Impact of A/H1N1 Includes Idaho Too....
The Billings Gazette mentions The Independent Meat Company of Twin Falls, who markets much of the MT pork to China and elsewhere, in this article.
It isn't just airlines and other businesses losing major revenue to A/H1N1, and this is the mild version.
I think this MT-written article is worth reading. Some may want to think of how to protect their businesses or jobs, from A/H1N1.
I loved the sign shown with this article. I didn't post it as this is a shorter version. A MT farmer stopped HUMANS at an outside road prior to entering his pig farm so the humans wouldn't bring A/H1N1 to his livestock.
If you can see it, please take the time to look at the sign.
