Default May Events in Idaho

I thought I’d share some cool info with you. Like Cleosmom on the Farmer’s Market thread, I want to make sure I don’t break CDF rules by posting this, so I’m not posting links or contact numbers. I hope this doesn't count as advertising! But I subscribe to a magazine that has a great overview of ID events (and I'll gladly name the magazine if that's okay), so here’s a short version of what’s going on in the rest of May:

Missed the Riggins Rodeo May 2-3!
May 15-17 Eagle Island Experience Festival
May 16-17 Idaho Falls Snake River Fiber Fair (basketry, jewelry making, etc.)
May 22-23: Weippe Camas Festival
May 22-24: Priest Lake Spring Festival
May 22-25: Sun Valley Wellness Festival
May 23-24: Hailey Springfest Arts and Crafts
May 24-26 Coeur d’Alene American Hero Weekend
May 29-31 Pocatello Mountain Man Rendezvous
May 30-31 Nampa Salute to the AVG Flying Tigers

If you know of other events, add them to the tread! If it’s okay with Sage, and you like this “heads-up,” I’ll post June events when we get to the end of May. Lots of things happening in June, of course!

Oh the Fiber Fair..
I have heard all about it from the Mrs.
People sitting around talking wool and Looms, (no Beer Garden).
Man I can't wait to miss that...
I'd rather stay home and smash my thumb with a hammer.
That will be one weekend I know she will gone

Actually I'm with you, I'm more of a reap the benefits of having a friend who is a Martha Stewart type In fact, I need to tell her about this as she may not know.

DR, then how about the Pocatello Mountain Man Rendezvous instead ? Seriously, I love those kind of events. Come to think of it, we may be in the area that weekend!

Default Scotchman Peaks events

Are any of you guys aware of the Friends of the Scotchman Peaks' Wilderness? They have a lot of events including mountain hikes of various difficulty levels, nature walks, talks about the area, etc. May 26 they have a presentation at the Ponderay Events Center on the status of the proposed Wilderness area. The Scotchman Peaks are on the ID side, but the proposed wilderness straddles the ID-MT border. Here's more info:
www.scotchmanpeaks.org (Good pics and maps, and event calendar)

We haven't gone to any of the events yet, but we hope to do so in the future, such as the easy-to-moderate hikes--especially since it'll be the Peaks and Wilderness we'll be looking at from our future front porch !

Have a great Memorial Day weekend, everybody. Looks like NID is going to have gorgeous weather for all those outdoor activities!
