Have a blast buddy! I'm plotting and planning our trip now.. We were supposed to be there a week ago but had to postpone..

Anyone who wants to check out the webcam, and live weather go to www.harrisonvacations.com
Hey Trace,
I watched a rainstorm move out and the sun break through over your land yesterday afternoon! So cool! That is an awesome webcam!

Yah thats about the coolest webcam I've ever seen CFF, and that it shows my locale its REALLY cool.. That thing has been my virtual connection to NID for a couple years now..

Heres a few shots of some wildlife I've caught on it.. I've posted the GOOD shots in other threads and can only post them once, but here are a few I havent posted here.. The deer, elk, and gobblers arent very shy up there.. Best time to catch em on camera seems to be early morning and late evening.. Still waiting to see that monster Buck..hehehe..

Trace, I'm impressed with the number of elk in those pics. Hopefully they're there in October, shouldn't be too hard to fill your freezer.

I just had a close call with a moose today, came boiling up the shoulder, out of the brush and onto the road just in front of me. No thump, but didn't need the coffee after that either.

Yikes! Yah that'll get the blood pumpin..Ha!! I have pics with around 8 elk in one shot, but like I said I can only post them once here.. We've also heard Moose bugle on our property so I know they are in the area..
We've seen plenty of deer, and seen elk tracks and piles of dung, but havent actually seen one yet on the property.. Also had a Turkey with a bunch of chicks wandering around too.. None of them seem very wary of humans... We had a young white tail run right up to a tractor we were running, and just stood there staring at it.. He did that twice..Ha!!

I think you'll love elk hunting-hearing one bugle up close and personal durning the rut will really get your heart pounding. I don't recall, do you shoot sticks or bullets?

The Best Western Edgewater is an AWESOME place to stay, right on the beach. Not a real problem with the construction since it's on the other side of the train tracks from the construction. The Edgewater is where we have all our friends stay that we're trying to "sell" on moving here....great choice....

Thanks for the tip, everyone who weighed in! We did stay at the Edgewater, newly remodeled, fantastic view, and really no noise from the trucks working on the bypass . And that bypass--I still bemoan the loss of the Bridge Street rope swing and the trees, but my goodness, something had to be done. The huge cattle trucks, construction trucks, etc., going through town--really unbearable. So I get it!
But the restaurant in the Edgewater Hotel has changed owners. That was a disappointment--expensive food, and not very good. Apparently they're in the process of changing the menu, and training the chef...so maybe next time we visit things are back to their old high-quality standards.

The "Beach House" restaurant moved out (to take over the old "Connie's Cafe" location at Cedar & 4th) and Trinity moved in. Trinity is certainly more expensive, but I have not heard complaints about the food quality before. We loved eating at the prior location adjacent to Starbucks. Note that Oishi sushi is no longer inter-connected to Trinity so the only sushi now available at Trinity is minimal (no problem to me since I hate sushi...but my wife liked having sushi when we dined at Trinity).
NOTE: Oishi moved to the west side of the street adjacent to the Synergy nightclub.

Interesting to hear you didn't care for the food. We're planning on dining there next week, so I hope that was an anomaly...

Sage,
Thanks for supplying the exact info about the Sandpoint restaurant game of musical chairs ! I really didn't mean to imply that the new Trinity isn't worth a visit--it may be great, for lunch and dinner. But we went there for breakfast, and what we ordered really wasn't very good. Still, I shouldn't have generalized . I was just so darn disappointed that my favorite burgers were gone from the lunch menu! (see the "Idaho Burgers" thread!) Let us know what you think about the food next week!
