Yup. Sandpoint needs some better growth planning.

I had property and a cabin on Upper Gold Creek Road NE of Sandpoint back in the middle 70's. In fact, both of my sons were born there. In those days there were no traffic problems to speak of. We had to leave in 1981 and I feel fortunate to have experienced the Sandpoint area back then. I also remember Sandpoint being covered with ash from Mt. St. Helens. Does anyone else on this forum remember those days?

I moved here in 1981 so I wasn't quite here in the 70's. Things have changed here, but not to a huge degree. It still has a small town feel to it. I had a friend that used to live on Upper Gold Creek Rd. and I would go visit her now and then and stay the weekend to be in the woods. Even in the 80's I remember how different summer was with all the tourists around. Come Sept. and town began to get back to its old self again.
