Got home yesterday...and it was 74 deg at Spokane Airport, and 43 deg last night here at the house.

You know, I was trying to think of what I miss about leaving SoCal, and about all I can come up with is the lack of bugs due to the lack of water. I don't miss the ocean since we live 1.7mi from the launch ramp for Pend Oreille, but I think if I lived somewhere away from good boating I'd miss the ocean more (I grew up as a local beach kid so I thought I'd miss it more than I do).

Do I miss Idaho??? Oh my goodness you have NO IDEA!!!! It's like a giant pit in my stomach. My mom moved us to Arizona when I was 6, and I have never adjusted to it. We go to Idaho every summer and I soak it up. My mom often says that if I was lost in the middle of Idaho I would be happy, just beacuse I was in Idaho. And it is true. Idaho is DEFINETELY a love it or hate state. People who love it have this inexplicable bond to it. I once read in a book something that said that the Magic Valley area is somewhere that is hard to love, but once it is in your heart it is impossible to get out. And its true. I love the flat farmland, I love the mountains, I love the canyons, and the lakes. There is a certain feel about the air in Idaho... especially at night. The air even smells better there. I miss the small towns... The way everyone waves at everyone else. The way when I go back home and to the church we went to, everyone says I remember you when you were this big! (Big Sigh). Do I miss Idaho?? Yeah I just about started crying reading people's descriptions of Idaho.

I was raised in Idaho and my family moved us away when I was 13. I miss Idaho like this darn Arizona desert misses the rain. I have finally talked my husband into moving away from Arizona and back to Idaho. He has never been there so he has no idea what he is missing. Poor city boy.
I cannot wait to get back there. Idaho is the only state I have ever felt at home in. I dream about it even lol. I just wish March was here already

I miss the fishing and hunting. Living so close to the mountains and snow. I miss what Boise was back in the early 90's not what it has become. To have 4 seasons again with a nice climate to boot, but shore do not miss the hot summers as I am reminded of them here ggrrrrr. O ya add in the thunderstorms I miss the a lot. Do not miss the people or politics of the areas thou. To move back I would not even look at the southwest any more but up north.

I was born in Idaho and lived there all of my life except for a short time spent in Wells, NV. That is until about 9 years ago when I decided to move to ND, big time mistake.

Needless to say, the first chance I get I'm moving back to Idaho and plan on never leaving it again.

Idaho Spudd is on a distinguished road
I have never lived in Idaho but I have visited every summer. I live in Las Vegas and all of my family is in Idaho (Boise, Couer D'Alene, Twin). My cousins think Las Vegas sounds like fun, but I can't even begin to describe how much fun Idaho is in conparison. There's so much to do in Idaho. I'm not 21 yet so there's seriously nothing to do in Vegas, and they don't realize that you have to be 21 to do anything. That's why I miss Idaho. You can go fishing, camping, canoeing, tubing, everything. Besides that, Idaho has better community ties. It's so much more welcoming than Vegas will ever be. I work at a summer camp in the mountains outside of Vegas (yes we have real mountains with pine trees and everything) and my camp name is Spudd because I love Idaho soooo much. Can't wait to go back next summer!

I moved to NYC from Post Falls, ID right after high school. Wish I would have realized at the time just what a great place I was leaving behind. I only am able to visit my family in Idaho once or twice a year and it just isn't enough. Not only is Idaho much more beautiful, but the people are so much nicer than New Yorkers.
