Default Advantages - Disadvantages Washington side or Idaho?

Spokane almost borders Idaho.

What are the advantages- taxes -services -prices - climate etc of living on each side of the border?

I asked this in Washington too

The Spokane area is much drier than the Idaho side (unless you get up to Elk or Newport or something). Crime is MUCH higher in Spokane (and the surrounding area suffers from the spread). WA is one of the most restrictive states on personal freedom (up there with CA and NY) where Idaho is one of the least restrictive (up there with NH and WY and MT). There are more services and jobs in Spokane, but I'd rather drive to those things or do without rather than live there. And the drivers are TERRIBLE in Spokane. (WA has a very substandard driver's training program and it shows in the average driver skill where ID drivers ranked among the best in the nation in a recent survey)

Default Lewiston/Clarkston.

Would the same general remarks also apply to Lewiston vs. Clarkston?Numbers can be misleading, but just looking at the raw data the impression is that Clarkston is poorer, homes not as upscale, and crime more of a problem compared to their Lewiston neighbors.Have not been to either town yet,so have no impressions based on experience.

Hey, what about the biggie? Dishwasher detergent minus the phosphates. My Spokane friends are always begging me to bring them real Cascade.

I agree with Sage on the Spokane drivers. They drive us crazy when they head up to Priest Lake.

Before moving here, I planned on stopping for dishwasher detergent whenever I went to ID. Turns out, we settled on a house without a dishwasher.

We haven't had a dishwasher for 7 years. They don't work so well with off-grid homes. Energy hogs.

No state income tax in WA, both income and sales tax in ID. (Although the sales tax is lower than WA).

Wouldn't one have to pay income tax to ID on income earned in WA?
