While there are certainly lots of dirt roads in our very rural slice of North Idaho paradise, there are literally over 100 miles of paved trails and rider-friendly roads to traverse.
For off-road and true trail riding, hardly anything beats Schweitzer Mountain or Silver Mountain. Schweitzer was so cool the Norba Nationals was held there.
Off Brisboys by Lakeshore Drive is over twenty miles of packed trails. This one is even groomed during winter, something hard to find in our area.

Biking and Hiking in Sandpoint and North Idaho
Pay attention to the top of the page for the map of the Sandpoint Biking Trail map and the nine miles of paved trails along the Pend Oreille in Dover Bay. This is another winter riding experience since Dover Bay is kind enough to have snow removal as a part of the great service they provide to the community. Even better, this is a favorite ride during the sunny months with locals and visitors alike.
For hiking, you can't hardly beat the walk along Lake Pend Oreille from past Seasons at Sandpoint to the point on land donated by the Ross Hall family.
Right behind Seasons and the water treatment plant, on the sliver of peninsula between Lake Pend Oreille and Sand Creek, there are old railroad service roads and great trails.
If you need more info, shoot me a message and I will try to give you some guidance.
Have a great ride in Sandpoint today.
