Default Coeur d'Alene weather

My parents are considering Coeur d'Alene as a possible place to move (they are retired.) Weather is their foremost concern. We heard there is little precipitation, but does this include the winter? When does winter start? How cold is it? Statistics aside, what is your personal opinion of the winter/weather there?

thanks

Usually in late Sept./early Oct. we start getting rain. By late Oct. it is pretty cold. We have sometimes had snow around Halloween, but usually sometime in Nov. The snow usually starts sticking in Nov. or Dec. The amount of snow we get varies each year but if they have an issue with snow CDA or North Idaho for that matter, won't work. It is cold and snowy from Nov. to March. Then we usually have rain until early July. Summer is from early July to early to mid Sept. usually. We get plenty of rain and snow here.

If you have the money to pay people to shovel your drive way and side walks and get you your groceries. Parking lots are icy here seen plenty of older people go down because of ice. You are set. If you plan to do it on your own good luck happy snow blowing and shoveling. The last few winters have been hell around here and most people were over whelmed by the amount of snow they were responsible for removing. Idaho is for the hearty and you need to prepare yourself for power outages and other potential survival situations. Because things do happen here.
