Shout out for small town grocery stores
Do you have one you love? We have one in Priest River: Mitchell's Harvest Foods, and it's terrific. For a small town store they have an incredible wine and beer selection as well as natural foods. You want a jar of British Salad Cream or Swedish Lingonberry Preserves? They've got it. The best part by far though, is the butcher. They remember you by name and you can get anything from buffalo to frogs legs. Elk to rabbit...as well as the standard fare. If you need it specially cut...no exasperated faces like I've seen in the big chain stores.
They sell used books as well as new and there's a fireplace to read them by while you drink your coffee. Sure, the bakery and produce sections aren't quite as big as the Safeway in Newport, but the friendliness and the rest of the variety make up for that. Another bonus: no one tries to run you down like in the Safeway parking lot in Sandpoint. Yikes...what's up with that place?

We have a Harvest Foods right down the road... We are in there all the time... I understand you can ask for "Abandoned" Elk and Venison, and get it at a great price...

No Fish, from what I understand its Elk that was processed and not picked up for whatever reason. I assume they freeze it..
I thought it sounded kinda odd, but thats what I was told... I'll have to find out for myself.
BTW, we went to Trading Co. today in Post Falls.. THAT is a great market... I got some incredible jerky and beef sticks they make right there at the butcher shop.. Also I never saw so many different kinds of beers in a supermarket..Ha!!

Thanks Trace that does sound better. I went up to Bonners Ferry the other day and went to the John Deere and Kubota Dealers. It was tough leaving without a tractor but someday I will get one.
They have a Trading Company also. I should have gone in and looked around. For me Post Falls and Bonners Ferry are about the same distance apart.

He's being corrupted by the siren song of new toys already! Welcome to Idaho FM. Heck, you haven't had a chance to really try out the Ranger yet.
BTW, if you decide to get a tractor, you're welcome to come up and play with mine for a couple hours. It's tough to spend that kind of money on something you can't try out.
Here's somewhere for you to spend too much time: TractorByNet.com

Thanks TM, that would be great. I have used the ranger to move a little dirt here and there and it does ok. But not like the real thing. Do you grunt and growl a lot when you drive that thing around like Tim The Toolman Taylor, I know I would. The youngsters who did my building let me use the back hoe on their Kubota. Man I was smiling like an idiot. I had more fun on that thing than I do on my Harley.
