Another problem is that some years they aren't open all that long due to insufficient snow. I prefer Grand Targhee but it's more expensive and a longer drive.
The Idaho Falls Ski Club is a great resource to get discounts and deals. They are having their annual used equipment sale this weekend and you can learn about the club and join while you are at the sale. There is also a TGR (Teton Gravity Research) film playing at the Colonial Theater on November 18th. Advance tickets are $8 and I heard that admission includes a 2 for 1 ticket to Grand Targhee.
Kelly Canyon, the Idaho Falls Ski Club, Teton Gravity Research and Grand Targhee all have their own websites. I don't know whether I should post all their links but they are easy to find.

NCM,
I agree. Kelly is really both the closest and cheapest of area facilities.
Here are a couple of links to get you started:
Idaho Falls Ski Club Home Page (Idaho Falls Ski Cub) - a LOT of links there.
And, for Kelly this is their link:
Kelly Canyon Ski Resort
You asked at the perfect time as I think the Idaho Falls Ski Club is having their sale/swap this weekend. One of us should probably post it in the Idaho Falls things to do, as it is a BIG ANNUAL EVENT!
Hope those links help.....
