While I lived & worked in Boise, I noticed a presence of "born again" Christians. I'm not sure if by "Christian" you mean "born again"; I've met people in the area that meant "born again" when they called themselves "Christian".

I guess I don't know the definition of "born again" what I define as Christian is faith in God, attend church when we can, strong family values, morals, don't hang out at the bars, don't do drugs, you know just a simple clean life with beliefs of the bible and Jesus.
I just my kids to be treated well and have opportunities not avaliable in a small NV town. I want them to see that there is so much more out there, but I don't want to live in a huge city. I guess I am very old fashioned.
Thanks

Boise does not need a Guardian.

The LDS buildings by the high schools are not community centers, but a "seminary" for LDS students to gather for classes for a class period or for an hour or so after school to learn more about their own religion. They are separate from the school district. I am sure plenty of LDS kids feel exluded by the Catholic students too.

I didn't mean to infer that the LDS buildings were part of the school district; I just wanted to point out that they have buildings adjacent to the high schools in Boise, including the Boise HS downtown.
I was really surprised to hear that the Catholic Church has such a strong presence in Boise; I never really got that impression when I lived there (I moved a year ago, but still work for a Boise company). Most of my coworkers and friends were either LDS or non-denominational Christian. On a side note, I never felt any pressure or exclusion from my LDS coworkers.
Fresh Start: I really don't think you will have problems living in the Boise area and fitting in. My impression is that the Boise area is very family friendly. If you haven't already, you might want to take a trip up to the area and take a tour.

I believe everyone has a right to their own beliefs, I just don't want my kids to not feel inferrior to anyone.
I hope if we do move to Kuna or surrounding area that we can find a home around 2000 Sq. ft. for about 250,000 that would be about as high as we could go. Is that doable there? I would like to find something 3 bdrm. 2 bath with a bonus room and a large kitchen and RV parking.
Thanks to everyone for all of the great info. I wish I would have found this site before we moved to NV.

LDS stands for Latter Day Saints, it refers to the Mormon community

Yes that is do-able. They have listings there from $242,000 to 250,000 right now from anywhere of 1800 to 2700 sq feet. 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes.

OK. I know that this forum is not a classified arena, but my wife and I want to look at Boise for our retirement. She is from WA, and I'm from TX, so dont gimme any hate! Who can recommend a realtor that can work with us in terms of getting rid of /errrrrr/ selling an acre of ocean-view beach access property with a cottage (perfect for vacation rental) on the Mendocino Coast in N. CA.? Or trade for a couple of homes in Boise? And R.E. Pro's reading this who knows a builder that is interested in building a beach houseand wants to trade? Boise is Beautiful, but this is a piece of California that isn't exactly like most of the urban stereotype. This is close (about 2 1/2 miles) from paradise! lol

Are there places in that price range with a little land too? Maybe an acre?
Thanks
