Default What Is The Summer Weather Like In Mccall, Cascade, Ect.

I am looking for cooler weather. Where I live now the summer's are too hot. I am a big baby when it come to the heat. It makes me sick. Starting in April it's already hitting the mid 80's, by May we are in the 90's and then comes those great 100's +..... It is hitting me worst this year. Since the start of July we have been in the high 90's up to 106. We still have about 2 1/2 months to go. Also I heard the winnter's can be quite bad. Which I don't think it will bother me to much. I love snow, and cold temps. But is it hard to get out to the store for food and things you might need ? Janet

Summer weather in McCall is typically, approximately 10 degrees cooler than in Boise. Boise has been high 90's or over 100 with a high of 107 this year. The good thing, McCall does have a couple of beautiful public beaches on Payette lake... a great way to cool off. McCall gets a lot of snow and is cold during the winter, but all of the roads are kept well plowed as it is a summer and winter resort town. The fall back, you either have to pay a company to come and shovel your driveway and walkways, or you have to do it yourself. I suppose if you are living there, keeping up on it wouldn't be too bad.

Default Well, I haven't quite moved there yet,

but I have spent some time there this summer. It gets into the 90's, but feels a little cooler than the actual thermometer temp. Nights get into the 40's-50's, generally. The sun shines a lot but thunderstorms aren't rare. That's "in town". Out of the valley, up into the mountains, it's cooler. We camped there a few weeks ago and it was in the 90's during the day and we froze our tails off in our tent at night! We are moving there this Saturday, so if you need any more info, I'll be happy to help!

I think the weather there in the summer is nice but in the winter get a plow or a snow blower you will need it as shoveling it at times is a no go from all the snow that falls. It is also cold in the winter that is how they get away with there ice carvings for the winter fest. Or at lest used to.
I do we got snowed in more then once up there in the winter and that is also with a 4 x 4. Just be ready to be house bound for a few days now and then. Also the road down to Boise can and dose get really icy at times same with the freeways in Boise. Ask all the cars that slide off the road way in the winter about that .Mores creek runs beside the road and that is what helps make the road way icy. Also when the lake freezes over cascade that is people like running there snowmobiles out on it its also good ice fishing then to

Default McCall

Hi,
I live in McCall Idaho and the summer and fall months are what keeps most of us here plenty of work and the weather is beautiful when there are no fires around.
The winters are 6-7 months long here great for skiers. We get our first snowfall around halloween and it keeps coming until March and April. Though it snows those months thats also, when its the worst you have freezing weather from Jan to March it can get 10-20 below 0 and the roads get pretty icy. Come June it's beautiful. Cascade is nice town friendly but they have a lot of low cloud coverage and not many winter activities going on they are about 40 min from Mccall going towards Boise.
You might look in Council if this would be too long of a winter Council is 40 mins away and a very nice community lots of people who are tried of the snow are going there or Riggins Council gets snow but not near as much and it melts between Feb and March and you can garden down there. Hope this helps please feel free to ask me any questions. Good Luck
