I agree, that was inappropriate. Sarge, weren't you preaching the harm in blanket statements earlier? I'd say that tirade you just spewed out about wanting "Godless" Californians to drop into the ocean was a blanket statement if I ever heard one.

Nope, but I do preach not throwing water on an electric blanket.

Hummmmm...I've lived in California most of my 53 years. Yes, I'm looking at other states to retire in due to cost of living here in CA. But as far as being a "Godless" state...far from it.

Many of the stores in our area close on Sunday. Our church is on a street with lots of other churches. I see lots of folks going in and out of churches on Sunday. I'm LDS and here in CA we are one of many religions. Some folks here think our religion as being a bit odd. But ask lots of questions in a friendly way.

CA lds may be a lot more accepting of other religions than other states, just because we are from a very diverse state. I see that as a plus

The term was "most Godless" not "Godless." It was my contention that California is the most Godless, meaning it has the lowest percentage of population that actually practices a religion in the nation. Turns out I am wrong; Washington State actually beats California by 2%. The percentage of California worshipers is 31%; whereas, the total percentage of the population that worships in Washington is 29%. Well, maybe it's because so many of those heathen Californians have moved to Washington. If I read the article correctly, California is the number 2 most Godless state in the nation. Darn, it looks like God won't add a bunch of ocean beachfront property to Nevada after all. I was so looking forward to having my cabin at Lake Tahoe overlook both the lake and the Pacific Ocean.

Default lds in Idaho blah blah blah:)

I have not been around much the last six months. But got to say...when I do come here...I'm so bored with the lds in Idaho theme. There is so much on this site about it that it could not be mentioned again for six months and there would still be tons of stuff for new people to find on the subject with a search.

I guess folks aren't interested in things like. Prices of homes, landscape and weather, schools, lakes and rivers, fine arts, job market, and all the priorities of moving to another state.

Yes, I'm lds...and at first found the discussions interesting...but man...pour a new pot of herbal tea/coffee and find something more interesting to talk about

Princeton Survey...I was born in Central CA and lived here most of my life...my parents were born here and lived here all their lives. Granted religion may not be has strong here as the Bible belt, but it is not the way you are presenting it.

Who are you going to believe...a Princetion Survey, or life long residents of the area? Most the folks I know believe in god...many attend services on Sunday. There are those that go fishing on Sundays

Perhaps it's the water in Fresno that dampens a sense of humor...............Hmm, that same water could be in Visalia, which would go a long way in explaining my grandfather's grumpy demeanor.
