Are there any jobs in masonry in Idaho?

An old friend of mine is a mason in Maine and he is having a difficult time finding work and was wondering if the pastures are greener in Idaho. Honestly I don't think so but I can't be definitive about it since I know nothing of the industry... I would expect that masons would be needed in an environment where homes are being constantly built but from what I have seen from Sandpoint's Idaho Club all the way down to CdA is a building freeze.

Can anyone here help out my friend with some info?

Construction all through the state is at a virtual standstill. Now, if he wants to join the Masonic Lodge, I'm sure they're recruiting.

I can't speak for the whole state, but the treasure valley has been overbuilt, and every tradesman I know has been short of work going on 2 years now.

I would say Masonry work is difficult to get, but not impossible. When we came to Idaho that was the trade we were in. It was hard to find work and employees where about impossible to keep or train, not sure what the problem is with wanting to work.
Since, construction was all that we knew, my husband just learned a new trade in carpentry and does trim work. We had to adjust to what was in the area. Construction of any kind is very hard to find in Idaho, I have heard Hawaii is doing well. Might just be a rumor.
