I grew up in Freshwater and went to Eureka High. I have lived in the Coeur d'Alene area for 11 years. Some of the things that are different about the two areas is that Eureka has two seasons, Overcast and raining or just overcast. Coeur d'Alene has 4 real seasons. The winters here aren't too bad if people would just slow down. Eureka has the ocean but it is too cold to swim in. I live just north of Coeur d'Alene and there are at least 4 nice lakes within 20 miles. There is a 50+ mile bike trail and a lot of hiking and other recreational oppertunities if you like to get outside.

If you are looking to buy a house there are a lot on the market right now. I would avoid the cookie cutter houses they are building on the Rathdrum prairie. We have had our house on the market for a couple of months and have only had one real showing so I am hoping it starts picking up after school gets out.

You can find prices for apartments in the newspaper at Coeur d'Alene Press Newspaper - Local and National News - Kootenai County, Idaho and the Nickels Worth at Welcome to Nickel's Worth!

Good Luck.
