Where to move in Idaho
A question for those in Idaho....My husband and I run a small landscaping business. We're trying to decide where to move....the decision, at this point, is between Idaho Falls, and just outside Boise. Any suggestions?
We have an 8 year old, so schools are important.
Thanks!!!!

Move to Boise! There is a huge need for landscapers. I have four that I work with now but they're almost 4 weeks out so I could use another one to refer. What type of landscaping do you do? I mean what is your specialty?

I think that there is a tremendous need in Boise for total landscape care. In Boise... Anyone that is good is completely full and anyone that is not, well..... I mean specifically a company that does not just complete a contract at the beginning of the year and that is all the work they do. Many people, myself included, are looking for a company that notices changes in landscape and makes decisions based on those changes. There are people here willing to pay for these types of services provided knowledgable hands on care is provided.

There's quite the need for landscapers in eastern Idaho these days. I'd raise a child in a slower paced community myself.
You'd have everything here you'd need; good schools, excellent hospital, airport, small town charm and of course Yellowstone is our backyard

Hmmm, I would have to believe you would make more money in Boise, more oppportunities due to population growth. Boise is the 23rd fastest growing city in the country. Can't remember where I saw that but it was recent. I think Idaho Falls was in there; for some reason the number 48 comes to mind but I could be wrong.

tomtamara: Have you considered northern Idaho? I live in Post Falls.....a growing way to fast area, and landscapers are really needed. Post Falls in right in between Coeur d' Alene and Spokane, 20 minutes to either city. And we have excellent schools!!!

I'd recommend Boise because of the vastly increased business opportunities you would have. The Boise valley has a much larger population than east Idaho. And you can't landscape in eastern Idaho at all for several months of the year due to the frigid winters. Boise generally runs 10-15 degrees warmer than Idaho Falls.
