In dont know the law in Arizona, but in Texas...one can use deadly force when protecting one's life or Home from emanate danger. Tresspassing is not sufficient threat to shoot someone...anyone[regardless of immigration status].
To hold someone until LEO arrives is ok, This rancher is accused of harrasing the aliens and threating them with physical harm/violence.
The Jury will decide.
OK then- how would you suggest that one hold criminals until LE arrives?
"Hey fellas- please wait here. I'm callling the police. Would you like a cold drink while you wait?"
Or in the real world would it be more like: "Hold it right there or I'll shoot. I'm calling the police now."
Should the latter be considered harrassing or creating distress? BTW: how do you harrass a criminal who's tresspassing on your property?
Our beef should be with MALDEF - the party responsible for concocting this bogus lawsuit. Worth noting - the testimony of the individuals apprehended didn't match each others' accounts of the incident, and initially there was no "kicked a woman" part of anyone's story. MALDEF probably cooked that one up to make a case, because all the other stuff is far from illegal - including saying that his dog is hungry for buttocks. Next thing you know - illegal aliens will be suing Americans for having a 'mean' look on their faces while they are being robbed by those same illegals.
This is old news, people, which I recall from several years ago. Let's not recycle old news and act like it just happened. I have seen that done before. That doesn't do our cause any good. The truth will set you free, not baldfaced political propaganda. Let the Hispanic open borders ethnocentric lobby be the ones spreading lies and committing political suicide.

Let them file suit and pay an American lawyer to represent them, let it go the whole way into court. When they go to court for the hearing, bust them as illegals and sling their illegal asses in jail! Three good things will happen;
A truck load of mexicans will be in jail!
The rancher will go home.
And justice from the United States of America will have been served!
