I'd gladly accept a national I.D., just like I would have no problem being pulled over and required to show citizenship. At the very least we need to have some kind of national card to show in order to receive welfare or health care and the like. If you don't have a card, you're tossed out on your tush.

How is having an ID card a loss of freedom? Oh I can see how it might infringe upon people who like to use a fake ID.
We already have a national id, it's called a passport. The difference is that it's not mandatory, and you are not required to carry it at all times. There is no penalty for not obtaining one or carrying one. Same as a driver's license, library card, etc... Requiring someone to get an id and requiring them to carry it at all times is a restriction on freedom. Ben Franklin would be appalled by such suggestion. When Obama's national civilian security forces start asking people for their id's at tea parties let's see what you say.

tea party ppl
have nothin to hide
ilegal aliens have lots to hide
i was at several tea party meets
here in arizona
if tha cops askd for id
i would hav gladly handed it over

I can't imagine why any tea partiers would object to that. Pull the card out of your wallet, show it and wow what a loss of freedom. Perhaps they will all be traumitized over it?
