Looking at one side of the coin are we? Did you forget about infiltration by drug cartels from Mexico, or street gangs like MS-13? You probably did. These are very dangerous people. Not all illegals are "nannies" or "landscapers". Try thinking without a liberal bias for once. I realize there are families and generally "pleasant" people who are illegal aliens, but there are a whole heap of bad apples that balance the scale.

Seriously, could you whiny superiority complex folk get any more annoying? Not all people who support removing illegal immigrants are "uneducated trailer folk", as your sarcastic post and purposely misspelled "government" implies.

When drug cartels and MS-13 are able to cross the border and attack our Border Patrol, there is something terribly amiss here. Every pro-illegal thinks they are so smart because they only know of illegals who work as nannies or are busboys. They use the same tired antics of claiming anti-illegals are "racists", or "Uneducated rednecks", or are buying into "propaganda". They completely forget about the criminal element - probably because facts and viewpoints that oppose their view would deflate their fragile ego.

This is from the article:

He said it would also end the divisiveness that's taken over the community.
"The division is because the aliens are here and nobody's taken care of it," he said. "If it does not pass, it's going to get worse."
It's good to see that someone else notices this aspect of illegal immigration. Who wants to drive around, walk around their city or neighborhood amongst all the tensions that illegal immigration is causing in many cities and communities? It's not a good development for the cities and states across the country. If the governments did something about illegal immigration those tensions would not exist. When Mexicans (the largest group of illegal immigrants) look at us they either a) think we hate them and think they are illegal, so they get defensive or more distant or b) they like to walk around as if they have the right to be here illegally which can cause a situation where the person they are acting that way towards will be aggressive towards them because of the ignorance shown by that proud, arrogant illegal immigrant or illegal immigrant supporter who wants to rub the matter in.

It's not good for anyone.

Well, first of all most of the LEGAL workers of Mexican ancestry are also sending part of their paycheck to Mexico. And the whiners themselves are spending part of their income in Omaha shopping malls and ordering stuff online. And the illegals used to rent housing from Fremont landlords, and pay Fremont utility taxes, but they won't be doing that anymore, either. The lawsuits alone are going to cost the city more than all the money sent to Mexico by the immigrants.

Why don't they just pay all workers in Fremont with vouchers that can only be spent in Fremont. That would solve the problem, which is, according to the news report, the only problem people in Fremont really have with illegals. Except the problem that they they are hate-filled racists, but they didn't tell any of the reporters that.

You know what I hope happens? Some enterprising builder puts up an apartment building just outside Fremont and all the Hispanic workers go and live there. The Fremont apartments will all sit empty, the landlords will have no income, it will erode Fremont's tax base, and the Mexican kids will all still be going to school in the Fremont school districts, and Fremont will still have to pay for that.

Show Fremont what happens when your greed and hate outstrip your humanity and common sense.
You call them "whiners," but don't they have the right to whine? That's what I don't understand about people who support illegal immigration. You, they, act like legal residents and citizens here are just supposed to sit back and let this happen. Let illegal immigrants work here, live here, get educated here with no opposition. Do you all seriously think that that is going to happen? So, why get mad and complain when U.S. citizens do show opposition to illegal immigration? We're not an easy win, we are not push overs, it just won't happen like that here.

Make federal laws? What are you saying? I guess you are saying that only the federal government should handle this issue? Well, unfortunately, the federal government isn't enforcing the laws enough to avoid situations like this. So, the states have no choice but to come up with their own measures. If there is a legal reason why a state or city can't do something, I'm sure it will be challenged. Until that state or city action is challenged and defeated though, people should understand that the states and cities took it upon themselves to take the action that the federal government refused to.

It's very simple: the states and cities have said, "We've had enough ... we've got a problem here ... we need to do something." People can call it racist (which is 100% assumption) all they want, the fact and truth is that states are doing something about it and until those actions are defeated in court, states and cities will be doing a great service to their people by reducing and eliminating illegal immigration.

Let's go Fremont, Nebraska!

Everybody please calm down and at least try to be respectful.
Also it would be AMAZING if you would stop choosing only the facts that benefit your side of the fence, so to speak, when analyzing the problem of illegal immigration. You know, try the logical, not the emotional approach. And in case it's not clear - both sides are using this tactic and both are equally guilty.
Who am I kidding, not going to happen ...
