Peggy West is her name.

She is board supervisor for Milwaukee.

She was speaking as a board supervisor about Milwaukee boycotting AZ.

She was voted latina of the year in 2004 and is part of a latina rights advocacy.

Amazing.

She has taken some serious heat for this one.

She later said that she meant AZ did not have as much border as TX.

All of this is true. Your more than welcome to look into it.

Spin it as she may try to that is not what she SAID - she said she didn't understand Az enacting a law against illegals as unlike TX it is "quite a ways from the border with Mexico" - cough cough

That is NOT just a "misspoke" that is ignorance.

Oh good lord.

You'll excuse anything to preserve your precious illegal immigration won't you?

Did you even listen to what the woman said?

She said that she could understand Texas implementing this sort of law because it shares a border with Mexico, but that Arizona, because it does not, shouldn't be allowed to move forward with SB 1070.

In the name of all that's rational....you are bloody hopeless.

To everyone else: It doesn't matter if You Tube pulls it down, there's now a Facebook page entitled "Peggy West is Dumb." Her ignorance will live on in some form or another....

From Arizona Senator Jon Kyl:

Quote:
Dear Supervisor West:

I understand that, when speaking about Arizona's new immigration law at a Supervisors' meeting recently, you said:

"If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding the borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border."

You will be interested to learn that Arizona does indeed share a border with Mexico. I have enclosed a map for your convenience. I hope you will take the time to actually read the Arizona law before formulating an opinion about it and become familiar with our country's geography and the challenges that our border states face.

Wheter she is ignorant or not...can you explained how her[ignorance] speaking at a public meeting has anything to do with illegal immigration. I take it you believe youself to be more intelligent than she...so explain the connection.

I'll give you a hand. She is so ignorant that illegal immagration is________ .
