Secondly, I read this article on Yahoo earlier and there is a lot wrong with the overall idea of the challenge. People don't say that illegal immigrants are only working farm jobs. How about challenging us to work the other jobs that they are working?

Exactly. There is no cap on the number of H2A visas. There is no excuse whatsoever to bring in illegals - except to pay illegal wages and provide horrendous working conditions.

More and more the pro-illegals are sounding like the pro-slavery types. They're insisting we need a group of people to do the slave type jobs, that people from foreign countries can be brought in to be paid very little, provided no job benefits.

Heck - why not just reinstitute slavery?

There are a whole lot of people in county work release programs through the jails who are first time or small offenders who desperately need jobs. The housing is free to the employer, unlike now where many employers provide dorm-like housing for the immigrant workers. They can be paid minimum wage. They have to be on the job by 7 AM and can work as long as the employer needs them to, as long as they're in by dark. Jails don't have enough room to house offenders and the work release program pays for itself because the county takes a portion of their pay. It's a win-win for everyone.

Boy if there was ever a baited thread this it.
Like anyone can't say, "Liberal enviormentalist, there is oil on the beaches, here's your chance to help!"
This Democrat/Republican and Liberal/Conservative crap is getting old.
How about "Hey, American citizens, let get together an straighten up this mess!"
