524 is not enough.

We need 5,000 of them along with another 5,000 border agents.

We need drones, electronic fences, every inch covered with a wall with one way in and one way out for the legal people only.

We need to stop the illegal Mexican terrorist from coming into America and terrorizing, kill, rape and steal from our citizens and our country.

We also need to close that border completely to keep other terrorist from using it as a way to get into the US.

Heck, send the tanks down there if we need to. Blackhawk helicopters or whatever it takes to secure our border.

I wonder if anyone has considered the logistics of bringing so many people to our border. THAT is what takes the time and planning. Where would you house another 10,000 people? How would you pay for all the needed vehicles, arms, food and housing? It's not so simple and the government doesn't make it any easier with their "hurry up and wait" policies. I think too many people are wanting "instant gratification" with this problem. I can understand that, sorta, because it's BEEN a problem for way too long as it is, but it ain't gonna happen.

Our military manages to move more than 10,000 people with tents and vehicles across the ocean. Why is it so impossible to think outside the box on this easy to solve problem? Ooooh I have another idea. Perhaps with some of the stimulous money being pissed down the toilet, we could build more buildings to house border security and provide some much needed construction employment here?

Good points and you'll get no argument from me! Just bringing up some of the reasons/excuses I've heard recently.

This is what the Tea Partiers are trying to change. Tea Partiers are trying to select and elect true Conservatives with true conservative beliefs who maybe won't be corrupted by money and power.

There seems to be no end to excuses. I am sad to see a president reduce this country, which in the past, could handle just about anything thrown its way, to a weak one without any vision or imagination at all.

In all honesty, I can't really say what the prez thinks or envisions because I'm not privy to any of it...although I wish I was! All I know is what I read/hear and I'm one of those who only believes half of that, if any. Yeah, I'm pessimistic when it comes to media and other people's opinions/reporting. I would dearly love to be a fly on the wall during all the meetings that I'm sure are going on over this. The wheels of government turn slowly, and sometimes seem to be stagnant, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime I am TRYING to practice patience which, I'll admit, grows thin sometimes.

524 National Guardsmen for the entire Arizona border? 250 National Guardsmen for the entire Texas border?

That's bull**** Obama

We need a paramilitary US Border Guard Service with a minimum of 100,000 personnel complete with it's own naval and air forces. It would replace the existing US Border Patrol and the US Coast Guard. It's personnel would have both military and federal law enforcement status (like with the US Coast Guard).
